Resume Headline Examples for Naukri
A resume headline is the one-line summary at the top that tells a recruiter who you are in five seconds. Here are examples you can copy and adapt.
A great headline names your role + years/level + a strength or specialisation. Example: “Frontend Developer · 3 years · React & TypeScript, performance-focused”. Use it at the very top of your resume.
Resume headline for a Naukri profile
On Naukri the headline is a profile field, not just a line on your CV — it is what recruiters read in the search listing before they open anything. The field holds 250 characters — Naukri shows a live counter as you type. Far less than that survives in the listing: roughly the first 120 on desktop, closer to 80 on mobile, and the only part you can truly rely on is the first 60. Front-load the role and your strongest keyword; anything after that is a bonus.
The formula that works on Naukri
Naukri headline guides converge on the same shape, separated by pipes so each part reads as a distinct keyword:
[Role] | [years, or degree + year] | [3–6 core skills] | [domain or stack] | [notice period or location]
The last slot is the one most people leave out. In Indian hiring the notice period is often the first thing a recruiter filters on — putting “30-day notice” or “immediate joiner” in the headline saves a message and moves you up the shortlist.
When a recruiter searches the Naukri database they see a stacked list: name, current designation, experience, location, key skills, and your headline. Your headline is the only line in that row you fully control.
What to avoid in a Naukri headline
- “Seeking a challenging role in a reputed organisation” — the most common headline on Naukri, and it contains not one term a recruiter would ever search for.
- Biodata fields — age, marital status, date of birth. They belong nowhere near a headline and waste the characters that decide whether you get opened.
- Emojis, stars, arrows and ALL CAPS — they do not make you stand out in a text list, and creative formatting can be invisible to parsing.
- Job-description copy-paste — writing what the role does instead of what you have done.
- Inflated experience — the number in your headline is checked against the number in your profile.
- A stale headline — one that still says “fresher” two years in, or names a stack you left behind.
